OUR MISSION, TO HELP

Supporting the Undergraduate Chapter

The Nu-Epsilon Chapter continues to be the leading fraternity at NMSU, pushing out strong campus leaders, setting the bar for community service dollars raise and hours donated, and supporting our Brothers professional development. The Chapter has been the recipient of numerous awards, including Greek Week 2016 Champions and back-to-back F.A.C.E. award winners.

To support the work of our Brothers financially,

the Nu-Epsilon Education Fund (Alumni Chapter)

established an Alumni Scholarship Program,

which awards two undergraduates with $500

scholarships at Apples of Gold, for use in

the fall semester. This compliments the

Scholarship-Leadership Awards that the

Kappa Sigma Endowment awards at the end

of the fall semester for use in the spring.

In December 2015, the Alumni Chapter came

together to establish a new permanently

endowed scholarship with the NMSU Foundation.

This initial endowment is funded at $26,000 and

will begin paying out for our 5th Annual Alumni

Scholarships at the 2017 Apples of Gold

In May 2017, NMSU will be shutting down the Greek Complex due to lack of investment in maintenance over the years, leaving us with no house.  The next goal of the Alumni Chapter is to spearhead the fundraising of capital for design and construction of a new Chapter House in Las Cruces. Our new home will be the crown jewel of the NMSU Greek system and of Kappa Sigma.

Building a New Home

House Campaign

One of the primary goals of the Executive Board for the 2016-2017 term is to engage with alumni across the country in support of our capital campaign. We have established several giving levels for our Brothers to consider over the next four years.  The funds raised through this campaign will help us break ground on a new chapter house within the next four years. In May 2017, NMSU will be shutting down the Greek Complex due to lack of investment in maintenance over the years, leaving us with no house.  Having our Brothers give back at one of these levels is the only way that we will be able to get a house soon and help our Brothers to enjoy the same experiences that we had. It is very much a reality.

As funding is put into place, we will work closely with input from all of our alumni who choose to be engaged in the process. We will also coodinate this with the University/Greek Life as they consider their long-term plans for a potential "Greek Row." We will continue to keep members abreast through out the budgeting, design, location, contract negotiation, repairs and maintenance process

The goal of the campaign is to raise 25-30% of the total cost to act as a down payment for the property, with the first benchmark of conducting a ground breaking before the chapter's 20th  Anniversary (2020).  We are currently estimating land acquisition and construction to cost around $700,000.00, making our preliminary goal to raise at least $210,000.00 over the next 4 years.
